Import Trader - Russian Products

Invest Talent is assisting our client - a startup import-export company in Vietnam with a team boasting over 30 years of experience in import-export and international business, in seeking for an experienced Import Trader to manage the procurement of goods from Russia, including fertilizers, agricultural products for production (e.g., wheat), cooking oil, and other key commodities, for the Vietnamese market. The role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating deals, and ensuring compliance with import regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and assess reliable Russian suppliers for fertilizers, agricultural products, cooking oil, and related goods.
• Negotiate purchase agreements, pricing, and delivery terms to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely supply.
• Arrange import logistics, including transportation, customs clearance, and preparation of import documentation (e.g., customs declarations, import licenses).
• Ensure compliance with Vietnamese import regulations, quality standards, and any applicable international trade restrictions or sanctions.
• Monitor market demand, inventory levels, and supplier performance to optimize import operations.
• Stay updated on geopolitical developments and trade policies affecting imports from Russia.
• Manage payment processes, including alternative methods to address sanctions-related challenges (e.g., RUB-VND transactions).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Economics, Trade, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in import trading, preferably with Russian products.
• Strong knowledge of Vietnamese import regulations and international trade laws.
• Possesses an established network of suppliers from Russia and customers in Vietnam.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken); Russian language skills are highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience importing fertilizers, agricultural products, or cooking oil.
• Understanding of Russian market dynamics and business practices.
• Familiarity with navigating sanctions and alternative payment systems.

Working type: Based HCM or Remote

Working time: Monday - Friday (9:00am - 6:00pm)
