Position Overview
Our client, a leading multinational corporation in the industrial cutting tools sector, is seeking a high-caliber Managing Director to lead its Vietnam operations into the next phase of growth and transformation.
With Vietnam emerging as a key manufacturing hub in Asia, this role requires a sales-driven country leader who can go beyond operational management to actively drive business expansion. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with a hands-on approach, directly engaging with customers, strengthening distribution networks, and accelerating market share growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and oversee all business operations of the Vietnam entity.
- Define and execute strategic growth plans aligned with global direction.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities across key industrial sectors, including:
- Machining, Automotive, Electronics, Mold & Die, Aerospace, and Energy.
- Develop short-, mid-, and long-term business plans to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.
Sales Growth & Market Expansion
- Drive revenue growth across cutting tools and integrated industrial solutions.
- Shift the commercial strategy toward direct end-user engagement and key account development.
- Expand market presence in core product segments, including Solid Tools and Indexable Inserts.
- Lead new product introductions (NPI) and strategic go-to-market initiatives.
Channel & Distributor Management
- Review and optimize the existing distributor and channel structure.
- Build and develop partnerships with high-performing distributors and industrial partners.
- Enhance channel performance through clear KPIs, performance management, technical training, and joint sales activities.
Candidate Profile
- 10–15 years of leadership experience in Industrial Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, with strong exposure to the Cutting Tools industry.
- Established relationships with manufacturers, industrial clients, and distributor networks in Vietnam.
- Native Vietnamese with strong professional English communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial, result-oriented, and hands-on, with a strong drive for sales and market development.
