About the Role
We are looking for a Production Engineer to transform engineering designs into reliable, scalable manufacturing processes. You will work closely with Design Engineering, Quality, and manufacturing partners from prototype and NPI through pilot and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate mechanical designs into manufacturable and repeatable processes.
- Read mechanical drawings and apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and DFM/DFA principles.
- Design and develop jigs, fixtures, and tooling for machining and assembly.
- Support CNC milling, turning, drilling, EDM, grinding, and other manufacturing processes.
- Develop inspection processes and work with QC on measurement, FAI, NCR, and quality issues.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage machining/manufacturing suppliers.
- Support Prototype → EVT/DVT → Pilot → Production stages.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and drive improvements in quality, yield, cycle time, and cost.
- Apply structured problem-solving methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and Pareto.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields.
- 4+ years of experience in machining, manufacturing, or production engineering.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings and GD&T.
- Practical experience with CNC machining and jig/fixture design.
- Experience working with machining suppliers.
- Understanding of measurement, inspection, and quality-control processes.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA, tolerance stack-up, MSA, Cp/Cpk is preferred.
- Hands-on, analytical, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- CMM / CAM / CNC programming experience.
- Experience with NPI, FAI, EVT/DVT, and pilot production.
- Knowledge of Wire EDM, grinding, welding, heat treatment, or surface treatment.
- Experience with SolidWorks, NX, Creo, Fusion 360, or similar CAD tools.
- Lean Six Sigma / SPC experience.
