Senior AI Engineer – Physical & Robotics

Our client is a EU based deep-tech startup developing next-generation humanoid robots and physical AI for real-world industrial applications.

The company is backed by leading investors and industrial partners and brings together experienced AI and robotics talent from Europe and the US.

They are now expanding their AI team and looking for an AI/ML Engineer who wants to work on some of the most challenging problems at the intersection of Generative AI, Multimodal AI and Robotics.

What You’ll Work On

• Design and develop AI/ML models for real-world robotic applications.
• Work on Physical AI / Multimodal AI and next-generation intelligent systems.
• Build and optimize distributed, multi-node model training.
• Develop LLM post-training and alignment workflows, including LoRA/QLoRA and RLHF.
• Build end-to-end AI pipelines covering data, training, evaluation, deployment and monitoring.
• Optimize models for low-latency inference and production deployment.
• Integrate AI models into real robotic systems, considering latency, sensor noise and failure modes.
• Collaborate with robotics and software engineers to bring models from research into real-world machines.

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of relevant AI/ML experience or a strong research/publication track record.
• Deep expertise in at least 3 areas such as: Physical AI / Multimodal AI, Distributed / large-scale training, Model optimization & deployment, Generative AI, ML Systems / MLOps
• Strong Python and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or JAX.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale distributed training.
• Strong knowledge of LoRA/QLoRA, RLHF and model alignment.
• Solid understanding of autoregressive models, diffusion models and flow matching.
• Strong mathematical and machine learning fundamentals.
• Master’s degree or exceptional Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, AI/ML or related fields.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models.
• Experience deploying AI models into robotics or other real-world systems.
• DeepSpeed / Hugging Face Accelerate.
• Kaggle competition experience.
• Publications at NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR, ICCV, ACL, AAAI, IJCAI, etc.
• PhD in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of MoE, test-time scaling, MPO or similar techniques.
