Invest Talent is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager who is fluent in both Chinese and English to oversee our client factory operations in Vietnam. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic manufacturing, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives to achieve business goals.
Job Summary:
The General Manager (GM) for a factory is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, strategic planning, and overall management of manufacturing processes within the facility. This role ensures that production goals, quality standards, and safety regulations are met while maintaining cost efficiency. The GM will lead and coordinate various departments, including production, engineering, quality control, and human resources, to optimize factory performance and meet business objectives.
Report to: the Vice-President of Operations, Overseas Business Unit.
Location: Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam
Key Responsibilities:
Operation Management:
- Oversee the entire manufacturing process, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations are met.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase production capacity.
- Monitor factory performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal productivity.
- Coordinate the activities of various departments including production, quality control, maintenance, and supply chain.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, motivate, and manage the factory management team and employees to achieve production targets and improve overall performance.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for employee development.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and retention of skilled factory personnel, develop a high-performing team. Promote continuous learning and professional development.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications, working closely with quality control teams to implement effective quality assurance programs.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
Financial Management:
- Manage the factory budget, including labor costs, materials, and overheads, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Be fully responsible for the profitability of the site operation, keeping a close watch of the top and bottom line of spending.
- Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-control measures.
- Meet or exceed revenue goals on a monthly basis
- Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess factory performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with senior management to create cost-saving strategies without compromising product quality.
Supply Chain and Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory management to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components, minimizing production delays.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and supply chain teams to streamline processes and optimize lead times.
- Implement inventory control practices to reduce waste, manage storage, and prevent stock-outs.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop short and long-term goals for the factory aligned with company objectives.
- Lead strategic planning efforts related to capacity expansion, new product introductions, and equipment upgrades.
- Monitor market trends and industry changes to adapt the factory’s processes accordingly.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards:
- Ensure the factory maintains a safe work environment and complies with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and enforce safety policies and programs to minimize workplace accidents and injuries.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training programs for employees.
Reporting and Communication:
- Report on factory performance, including production output, quality, safety, and financial metrics, to senior management – P&L reporting on a monthly basis and EHS on a quarterly basis
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to keep them informed of factory performance, challenges, and improvements.
- Maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and customers, to ensure smooth factory operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- 10+ years in manufacturing or industrial operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role in a factory setting.

- Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Mandarin (HSK 5 or above) and English (Speaking and Writing) is a mandatory
